Gershwin 100 seeks to spread the availability of very early and rare George Gershwin music for all to enjoy.
Along with this mission, we hope to draw attention to Gershwin’s national anthem “O Land of Mine, America” written in late 1918 as part of an anthem-writing competition. By encouraging lyricists to create all new lyrics, we want to help bring about an American national anthem that Gershwin would be and America will be proud of.
All of Gershwin’s music featured here is in the public domain to the best of our knowledge, as it is all around 100-years-old. The sheet music provided has been written in fake book form, chords and melody, to make it accessible to people with a wide range of musical ability.
